Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin
The history of Bathtub Gins dates back to prohibition times when bathtubs were used as vessels for storage of illicit spirits. This Bathtub gin is one of very few modern gins to be produced by cold compression that is infusing the botanicals into the gin before filtering them out before distillation. It features 6 botanicals including cardamom, cinnamon, orange peel, cloves , coriander and of course juniper. Best served with a slice of lime.
A twist on the traditional fruit or summer cup, it is a Gin-spirited blend of damsons, cherries & traditional Yorkshire fruits and hedgerow blossom and herbs – a truly novel product of the British countryside; a forager’s (liquid) feast. It has a delicious smooth fruity taste with floral and citrus hints and a strong dry finish.

Now a gin distillery founded by a man called Fred who grinds his juniper using a windmill has to have a certain authenticity
Being a Dutch gin this has a more powerful flavour and richness to the base spirit to which the botanicals are added. These include Juniper obviously but also coriander, angelica, oranges, lemons and cardamom pods amongst others giving the finished product a heady spice note that many will enjoy but some may find a little much.
Ideally enjoy served neat or as a Negroni
